Stranded Embroidery Thread 158 – Ultramarine
This deep blue is one of 66 shades we sell. Ultramarine is a favourite for artists palettes. Its name comes from the Latin ‘ultra’ meaning beyond and ‘mare’ meaning sea which reflects the long trade routes which were travelled historically to procure this precious colour.
Sold in 8 metre skeins, its six strands separate easily. Add depth and fine details to your work by varying the number of strands you use. Colourfast dyes ensure your work can be washed without fear of the colour fading or bleeding.
The Mouliné threads are still manufactured on-site in Mulhouse, France where DMC founded their business in 1746.
