This deep rich purple is one of the deepest purples we sell. Use it to add an opulent feel to your needlework. Purple encourages, inspires, uplifts and enlightens. So many molluscs were required to manufacture purple dye before the discovery of synthetic dyes in the nineteenth century that the immense piles of discarded shells were created along the eastern coast of the Mediterranean. These are so pronounced that they have become geographical features of the landscape.
Sold in 8 metre skeins, its six strands separate easily. Add depth and fine details to your work by varying the number of strands you use. Colourfast dyes ensure your work can be washed without fear of the colour fading or bleeding.
The Mouliné threads are still manufactured on-site in Mulhouse, France where DMC founded their business in 1746.
